Idiots 4 Beshear

Last week, someone spammed several political blogs with an announcement that a group of "Republicans For Beshear" was being formed, and an e-mail address was provided. (We aren't going to repeat it here.)

At this point no one knows if this is a legitimate effort, or an ingenious move by an intrepid Fletcher supporter trying to get the names of would-be traitors in the GOP ranks.

If the latter, that's a pretty clever ploy.

But if it's the former, then they ought to change their name to "Idiots For Beshear."

No right-thinking Republican should even give a passing thought to voting for or supporting Beshear. Beshear is a classic liberal and at the same time he manages to be a retread and a throwback to the bad old days of the Democrats' stranglehold on Kentucky government.

The primary is over, and just a little reminder, Ernie Fletcher didn't pick that primary fight. Others did and he was forced to defend his position. Any grudge you may have against him is of your own making, not his.

Fletcher's been under attack from the Democrats for long enough. It was bad enough that fellow Republicans joined the attack during the primary. But Fletcher was re-nominated and now it's time for his opponents to get back on board.

You are either with Ernie Fletcher or you are with the Kentucky Democratic Party and its candidates and party philosophy.

I am for the Governor but comments such as this do not help those fence sitters. In victory, magnamity, as WSC said. While the Governor has shown this, many supporters such as you guys and Hall haven't. Don't make it so hard on the Northupians and the Harperians to get behind the Governor. You do him no service.

Actually I enjoy reading the comments and opinions by the lame brains that run this blog. They give an insiders view of Fletcherism, the latest cult to occupy the Commonwealth. As for me (a long time Republican), I will be voting for ABE (Anybody But Ernie).

I don't appreciate being called a traitor or having my hard work for this party spat upon because I refuse to support Erne Fletcher. It's inflammatory stories like this that continue to drive anti-Fletcher Republicans further away. You'd be smart to remove it from this "blog".

You also imply that Fletcher will be looking for some sort of revenge on Republicans who publicly oppose him. If he can't take the heat, he doesn't need to be in politics.

More good news for Republicans...

Headline1: Fletcher administration and AG fight over access to hiring documents
Result: Hiring scandal stays in the news

Headline2: Ethics complaint filed against Williams
Result: More ethics problems and negative press

4:23, we really don't care what you appreciate. Facts are facts. Fletcher has been beseiged by the Democrats practically from the time he took office. When the siege became the most fierce, the people who should have supported him bailed. They were nowhere to be seen and eventually joined the opposition.

If you want to see your own supposed hard work for the party go to waste, vote for Steve Beshear this fall or just don't vote in the governor's race. Electing Beshear will negate this self-described hard work; electing Fletcher will further and enhance your work.

We still maintain that ANY Republican who would consider voting for Beshear is a fool.

Your blog has zero credibility to begin with. The publishers are nothing more than Fletcher apologists. Your wing of the party will be sunk in November and we'll all be better for it. I will also go so far as to say that if you share the same ethical reasoning as Ernie Fletcher, you're just as corrupt and crooked as he is. KPAC 2 is a hilarious joke, my friend.

Also, we are up to 33 GOPers thus far, look for an official roll out when we hit 50 after the July 4 holiday.

Not bad numbers. Only 33 idiots out of what, 1.2 million?

We prefer to think of it as 33 votes that Saint Ernie the Drunken Sailor would normally get but will not this time. Trying to corral Democrat votes will be the least of Saint Ernie's problems this fall.

What Republican principles will be advanced by the election of Steve Beshear this fall?

None.

He advocates casino gambling, he will support higher taxes, he supports abortion.

Fletcher opposes gambling, pushed a "revenue neutral" tax reform package and is opposed to abortion.

There is nothing positive that the Republicans can accomplish if Beshear is elected.

Getting rid of Saint Ernie the Drunken Sailor would be the most positive thing to ever happen to this Commonwealth.
